Situation:
- There was an opportunity for a graduation application at a company.
- There was a visual bug that needed to be resolved in the road construction code.
- Some of the assets need to be reassigned in the project.
Task:
- Apply to the graduation company and attend interviews/meetings.
- Resolve the most pressing visual bugs within the code.
- Reassign materials and meshes imported by Filip.
Action:
- I was able to get an interview with the co-founder of a company and had a meeting after with HR for an NDA. Some of these meetings took quite a while.
- I went to look for the issue within the code which took a long time, as it wasn't initially clear where the issue was. When a road had an intersection adjacent to it, as well as another road, it would cause an issue where it would place another road on top. Aside from that, there was also an issue where the road wouldn't properly align with the intersection.
The issues are clearly shown in the images above.
- I started working on reassigning the new meshes and materials in the code and affected meshes. Result:
- Still have future meetings planned, but I believe they got a good idea of what I can do and what I want to achieve.
- The road issues were fixed.
- Some of the new meshes and materials were reassigned, but I would still have to discuss some stuff with Filip.
Reflection:
- Overall, pretty slow week. The road issue bug fix took a long time to figure out and there were a lot of things that happened in between like the application progress. I hope we are able to get the new assets in and working as soon as possible as it also helps with motivation.
