Situation:
Create a presentation to update the assessors and the client on your work so far.
Continue working on the first prototype
Task:
Set up the git to be able to work parallel with other teammembers.
Create the base for the prototype.
Activities:
Created the presentation guidelines and later discussed and iterated upon it with the group for the final version.
Gave the presentation and received feedback, overal feedback is positive.
Switched from a C++ based Unreal project to Blueprint based, this has shown great improvements in terms of development speed and mentality as I now don't have to keep debugging and solving errors.
Merged work together with Mark, establishing the git more and working on the tile functionality.
Have the sprint review during which several more rules were established for the future to help with the team feeling demotivated. This will be checked in on within a couple of weeks to see if the new rules achieve their goals.
Results:
Working in unreal with blueprints is way faster and more convenient. There is more content available on the topic resulting in a faster workflow and more educated decisions being made.
The presentation was received well and the assessors are happy with the progress. We, ourselves however don't feel the same and want to achieve more together as we know that we are capable of this.
Reflection:
The communication this week was good, adressing the things that we know we can work on and allowing for a discussion to further iterate on these issues we encountered. With the new system in place we are seeing improvements hopefully within the next couple days or weeks.
Working in unreal with blueprints is something I should have decided on earlier. Seeing how long the basics of C++ based programming took I should have thought of switching sooner and improving my overal progress and mood because of this decision.
