Situation: Add extra functionality to the unreal prototype
Task: Add new UI elements that control the mechanics and visualise those elements
Activities:
Throughout the week I have been busy with merging and checking other people work that has to be putinto the main project. This took some of my time but besides it I worked on adding UI components that control the mechanics we already had on button presses. Throughout this process we also encountered extra issues we had with the prototype in the form of bugs that we hadn't encountered yet. When we filtered those out I also added an automatic point counting system that is displayed in the UI.
Results:
For the prototype to be done there are a couple of other functionalities that can be added before playtesting can begin in a way that is optimized enough that it is smooth enough to test with people outside of the study. This is important so we can gather data from outside of our own personal scope.
Reflection:
Some issues with debugging came up and have shown me that debugging in Unreal is a new concept to me and still need to get better at. This week I'll hopefully make enough progress that the desginers can playtest next week as soon as possible so that we can see if our designs have worked so far.
